Content Creation Strategy – Jesse Grillo

Content Creation Strategy

Content Creation Strategy

There is so much value in unique knowledge but few fully monetize it.

Posting a blog or sending out a newsletter and nothing else.

But you need to squeeze everything you can out of any content you create.

Here is an ongoing strategy for content creation…

  • Think big picture. Plan on creating 11 new pieces of content over the next 11 weeks.
  • Do customer research and swipe before you begin to write.
  • Focus on creating evergreen content only.

As each piece of content is created, follow this process…

  • Post the content to your website as an article.
  • Create and send out a newsletter with this content. Include a link to your article.
  • Post parts of the article to all your social media channels with a link back to your article.
  • Get quality links to the article from other websites via outreach or sponsored content. [ this drives traffic and will help your website get to the top of search results ]
  • Include this content in new ads within currently running campaigns that target people already familiar with your brand. [ retargeting ads ]
  • Keep a copy of this content within your swipe file in case you have use for it in the future.

Repeat this process once a week for another 10 weeks.

Once the 11 articles are completed, combine them into a book and ebook. ( You can also create an audiobook. )

The book isn’t meant to be a large revenue driver, although it may become one.

It is meant to establish credibility and is a lead generation tool.

How do you promote the book?

  • Create content about the book.
  • Post the content to your website as an article.
  • Create and send out a newsletter with this content. Include a link to your article.
  • Post parts of the article to all your social media channels with a link back to your article.
  • Get quality links to the article from other websites via outreach or sponsored content.
  • Include this content in new ads within currently running campaigns that target people already familiar with your brand.
  • Keep a copy of this content within your swipe file in case you have use for it in the future.

Take the 12 newsletters you’ve created and make them into an automated email sequence.

When someone signs up to your newsletter they receive one of these newsletters once a week for 12 weeks.

  • Create 11 new pieces of content that are similar to the content that has driven the most sales.
  • Do customer research and swipe before you begin to write.
  • Focus on creating evergreen content only.
  • Repeat the weekly process once a week for 11 weeks.
  • Create a book. Promote it the same as before.
  • Add the 12 new newsletters to your email automation sequence. Your new subscribers will now receive an email once a week for 24 weeks. ( 6 months )

Repeat this process. Then repeat it again.

Each time the process is repeated you’re getting better results.

At the end of a year you’ll have…

48 articles on your website. Each with links from other websites.

48 posts on each of your social media channels.

48 ads that promote this content and target people already familiar with your brand.

48 newsletters that have been sent to your subscribers.

48 newsletters that are automatically sent once a week to your new subscribers. [ one full year of newsletters ]

4 books. Each acts as a lead generation tool and will drive some revenue.

A swipe file full of quality content that may be used in future marketing efforts.

Optional weekly process tasks:

Create a whitepaper if this type of content would work in that format.

If you are involved with podcasting, do a podcast on the topic of the content. Once completed, include a link to the podcast within the article and a link to the article from the podcast.

If convenient or you have a large following for your video content, create a video based on your content.
